PointSixFour currently has a small flock of  laying hens who lay gorgeous brown eggs. They have an ample sized coop and and are allowed to come and go as they please. They are never confined. They have plenty of room to search for grass, bugs and worms. Our chickens live a stress-free lifestyle and are never treated as an “Egg Producing Machine”. They have free access to a vegetable-based ration that contains no animal by-products or antibiotics.
Before trying a farm fresh egg, everyone says “An egg is just an egg!” but this couldn’t be further from the truth. The fact of the matter is that Yellow yolks are poor yolk. A fresh, healthy egg should have a more golden or orange color. The color will change with the seasons but pale yellow is not acceptable at PointSixFour. Our eggs have a hard shell, golden yolks that stand up high and don’t burst easily. This makes many recipes simpler to make. Separating yolks can be difficult when dealing with poor yolks that break easily. Our eggs are always farm fresh and the flavor is also beyond compare!
